CEO & Founder, Covergalls
With 20 years of experience in the mining industry, Alicia understands what it means to push boundaries. Alicia Woods is the founder and CEO of Covergalls Workwear, an Independent Consultant, Speaker and a Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum. She’s a strong advocate in encouraging more young women to consider a career in the industry. Motivated to improve the underground mining experience for women, Alicia designed the first-ever covergalls (female coverall) for women and then successfully pitched her business on CBC’s TV Show Dragon’s Den. Alicia has appeared at speaking engagements across North America, from high schools to mining conferences, boardrooms and business luncheons. Alicia is focused on motivating and educating her audience and works to inspire, encourage and equip the women breaking barriers in non-traditional roles. She challenges companies to be a part of the change by working toward increasing diversity in mining while engaging local communities in overseas operations to create a more social and sustainable industry.
