As Director, Marketing and Business Development for SNC-Lavalin’s wholly owned subsidiary Candu Energy Tony is responsible for development and execution of business development activities across reactor technologies, integrated power, process heat and desalination solutions. Tony is a Chartered Chemist, and a graduate and member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Tony started his career in the chemical and polymer industry in the UK before joining a predecessor company of British Energy in 1975. He has remained in the nuclear industry since that time, working in the UK, Russia, Ukraine, United States, South Africa and Canada.
In 1997, Tony developed a proposal for a public/private partnership in the nuclear assets of Ontario Hydro, which eventually led to the formation of Bruce Power. He was involved in the due diligence on nine nuclear sites in North America and the acquisition and disposal of three nuclear power plants.
In the mid-2000s, Tony worked on the development of a nuclear steam supply solution for the decarbonisation of SAGD operations in the Alberta oil sands. Tony has recently worked on nuclear new build proposals in Jordan, Egypt and the UK.
